The district’s annual celebration of Black History Month is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 28, at Robbinsdale Middle School, 3730 Toledo Avenue N. in Robbinsdale.

Varied performances in the auditorium will follow a community meal. Among featured performers will be the Cooper High School step team, the FAIR Crystal choir and dancers, and Armstrong’s African Empire. Spoken word poetry from students will also be part of the celebration. Marti Voight, Interim Superintendent, will welcome families and introduce keynote speaker Cedric Fuller, principal at Robbinsdale Middle School.

“Rdale’s annual celebration of Black History Month allows our community to celebrate and participate in an event that gives a hands-on experience in a traditional way with food and performances,” says Tony Patterson, assistant director of the Achievement and Integration department.
