BELIEVE. BELONG. BECOME.
Welcome to Northport Elementary! Our school welcomes and celebrates students of many different cultures and backgrounds who cultivate their passions in our peaceful community school.
BELONG, EMPATHIZE, ACHIEVE, RESPECT (BEAR)
Northport Bears have remarkable opportunities to learn. As a dual language immersion school, we offer grades K-2 intensive instruction in Spanish and English – and we’re adding a new grade each year until the program is schoolwide. The program pairs students from different language backgrounds to enhance each other’s learning as they become bilingual, bi-literate, and bicultural.
The murals inside and outside our school are testament to our participation in the Kennedy Center’s Turnaround Arts initiative, which has led us to interweave the arts throughout all core subjects. Each year students may work with artists in residence on drumming, dance, or visual art; an annual theater production brings all the arts together.
We are a culturally and linguistically responsive school. Our students develop a strong sense of cultural understanding and empathy; they learn to respect both themselves and the experience of others. Throughout the school year, many events bring our school community together to celebrate our diversity – and our deep connection to one another.
Northport’s staff support students as they:
- learn to read, write, and respond to the world
- learn to think creatively about solving problems
- develop number sense
- build social skills and confidence in themselves
Our full-day pre-K is the only full-day program in Robbinsdale Area Schools. The program is for students who turn four years old before Sept. 1.
YOUR K-12 PATHWAY
